JACK
T. HAMMER, CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Jack Hammer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
Housing Systems, Inc., formed the company in 1970 to develop,
own and manage conventional and affordable multi-family real
estate properties. Since that time, Mr. Hammer has developed
more than $250 million and over 10,000 units of multi-family
real estate throughout the United States. Mr. Hammer remains
an active and integral part of the decision making process for
each development effort and personally reviews projects through
each major phase of planning, financing, design, construction,
lease-up and management.
Mr. Hammer is a Georgia Real Estate Broker and a life member
of the Atlanta Board of Realtors Million Dollar Round Table.
As a founding member of the Southeastern Affordable Housing
Management Association (SAHMA) in 1980, he served on the Board
of Directors of that organization until 1992 and remains an
active member of the association. Since 1976, Mr. Hammer has
been a Certified Property Manager (CPM) and was awarded an Executive
Level National Assisted Housing Professional (NAHP) designation.
Mr. Hammer serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for
the American Opportunity Foundation, a non-profit leader in
affordable housing. He also served on the Board of Directors
for the former Equity Corp. International, a publicly traded
company listed on the NASDAQ.
Prior to forming HSI, Mr. Hammer was employed in various capacities,
including property and project management for the Foundation
for Cooperative Housing, a non-profit organization engaged in
the sponsorship and development of low and moderate income cooperative
housing. Mr. Hammer was also engaged in the corporate finance
department of Kidder, Peabody & Company, a member of the
New York Stock Exchange involved in corporate finance and real
estate transactions.
Mr. Hammer graduated from American University with a degree
in Industrial Relations and received a master's degree in Real
Estate and Finance from American University.
PAUL J. PONTE, PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Paul Ponte who joined the company in 2007 as President
and Chief Operating Officer for Housing Systems, Inc. and HSI
Management, Inc. is responsible for the day-to-day administration,
operation and management of personnel. Mr. Ponte is also responsible
for HSI’s strategic planning, overall quality and productivity
improvement, and developing relationships with clients and professionals
that support our business endeavors. He is actively involved
in the decision-making, development and review of all property
operations, from early planning stages through financing, design,
construction, lease-up and management.
Mr. Ponte brings to HSI over 20 years of financial management
and multi-faceted business experience within diverse industries
including: financial services, consumer products, pharmaceutical,
health and beauty, and technology. Mr. Ponte is a results-oriented
professional with a talent for proactively identifying and resolving
business and financial issues, controlling costs, automating
processes, maximizing productivity, and delivering increased
profits.
Prior to joining HSI, Mr. Ponte was a Chief Financial Officer
for an Atlanta-based middle-market technology company as well
as a Vice President and Finance Director for Citizens Financial
Group. He also held various financial analysis and management
positions with several multi-billion dollar companies including
Ocean Spray Cranberries, CVS, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Clairol
and Ernst &Young.
A native of Rhode Island, Mr. Ponte is a CPA and received a
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as well as a
Masters in Business Administration from the University of Rhode
Island.
DOUGLAS C. TRIVERS, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Doug Trivers joined Housing Systems, Inc. in 1995 as
controller and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Prior
to joining HSI, Mr. Trivers spent several years with an Atlanta-based
CPA firm, Habif, Arogeti & Wynne, LLC., as senior accountant,
specializing in the small business and middle market companies
for various industries. Mr. Trivers is responsible for all financial,
accounting, budgeting, compliance, technology, and administrative
aspects of Housing Systems, Inc. and its subsidiary companies,
including HSI Management, Inc.
Mr. Trivers graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor
of Science in Business Administration. Mr. Trivers is a Certified
Public Accountant, a member of the Georgia Society of Certified
Public Accountants and a member of the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants.
MACK A. HANCOCK, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Mack Hancock joined the company in 2009 as Director
of Operations for HSI Management, Inc. and is responsible for
the day-to-day administration, operation and management of the
property management company. Mr. Hancock is also responsible
for HSI Management’s strategic planning, and developing
relationships with clients and professionals that support our
business endeavors.
Mr. Hancock brings to HSI over 20 years of Hands-on asset and
property management executive experience in organizational development,
strategic planning, and management of both affordable and conventional
multi-family housing, commercial and special needs properties.
He has a proven ability to provide significant cost savings;
implement policies, procedures, and financial monitoring; and
educational programming to encourage staff retention. Mr. Hancock
is results oriented, well organized and possesses strong analytical,
project management, committee leadership, and information technology
skills. He is actively involved in the decision-making, development
and review of all property operations, from early planning stages
through financing, design, construction, lease-up and management.
Prior to joining HSI, Mr. Hancock was Vice President and Director
of Operations for a Boston-based mid-sized property management
and development company. In this position, he led the third
party management division of over 14,000 units nationwide.
A native of Washington, D.C., Mr. Hancock holds a CPM candidacy
from IREM, a Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) from
NAHB, a Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM) from
NAHMA and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
from Boston College - Wallace E. Carroll School of Management.
PAMELA C. MULLINAX, DIRECTOR OF COMPLIANCE
Pam Mullinax joined HSI in 2002 as a tax credit compliance
specialist and was promoted to Director of Compliance in 2003.
Ms. Mullinax is responsible for ensuring property and owner
compliance with HUD regulated properties as well as the respective
state Low Income Housing Tax Credit programs. Pam is also responsible
for not only maintaining the property management applications,
but also facilitating training and support for on-site personnel
and operations.
Prior to joining HSI, Ms. Mullinax held various management and
senior management positions with CheckFree Corporation, a leading
provider of software and remote processing services for the
bill payment industry.
Ms. Mullinax holds several industry related designations/certifications
including Certified Occupancy Specialist, Housing Credit Compliance
Professional, and National Compliance Professional. |
